What's the best way for me to remove junk I do not need in some large lists I have? is Regex my only option? Plenty of my lists have useless data I would like to remove to bring down the file size

That depends on the data. For example, filtering emails is easy to solve I would say. Maybe even things like enumerating numbers or words like aaaaaa, aaaaab, aaaaac. But I'm not an regex expert.

Use Sublime text, it's freeware, and has helpful tools installed already. Download this and have a nose around at whats available to you there before getting into complicated regexing.
