Doge is designed with no supply cap. That means if no one invests in it, it will decline as more and more miners decide to cash out on their gains. Then again, ETH also has no supply cap, but the way it maintains itself is what the coin allows you to do (smart contracts, etc).

I wouldn't hold it for too long but maybe you can get some short gains from it as long as you always buy from the "true bottom", who knows, not a financial advisor.
