NAS Idea?

I have a Freenas build with a 10tb nas drive. Now I’m running out of space with my UHD Blu-ray’s.

I’m wondering, I want to add another 10tb but also make a safeguard for my days but I feel it’ll be a waste to buy 4 10tb drives and only being able to use 20tb

Any ideas?

thats just how it goes with backups, what raid? guess 10? could move to 5 and get 30tb but will lose some write speed and can only repair with 1 failed. could buy some big external hdds and shuck them if money is a factor too

Yea maybe the external drive is the best idea because movies don’t get added that often now lol

yea might be way to go, see if you can shuck them before you buy then just use it like a normal 3.5in hdd but for cheaper

Yea money is a component but not the most important. If it costs a bit more to avoid doing that I would lol. Just for the risk of causing damage.
