Kali Linux as primary OS?
#25
If you use windows 10, just download it from the windows store
#26
For my personal experiece, trial boot on my laptop :

MAIN OS ( development etc ) --- Debian Sketch
SECONDARY OS ( FOCA etc ) - WIN 10
THIRD OS - KALI only for Sec audit.

I Don't trust KALI so much a lot of stuff running only on root.

I use in Live USB mode too. It was a bit tricky to set persistence, but it work well too!

For some reason every ISO I've ever tried had the sources.list messed up or out of date. Make sure you have https://docs.kali.org/general-use/kali-l...positories set up and you should be good to go. You can find mirrors at https://http.kali.org/README.mirrorlist as well, although I usually go with the kali.org links personally.

Primary OS really just refers to the OS you use the most, so if you do mostly pentesting then Kali as a Primary OS would make sense. If you are doing anything serious with it or are attaching hardware such as Alfas or SDR hardware I'd definitely recommend a bare metal install rather than a VM since the driver translation doesn't always work properly. Either install on an extra laptop or boot a LiveCD.

Thank you, i'll try this.

I suggest install Kali on a Live USB adding persistence on it, works good and you can bring it everywere!

I have already a Debian 9 installed as primary OS, and I prefer use Kali on VM virtualbox.
I would like install with debootstrap in a directory, maybe a day I will try some tests.
Sure Kali is for pentesting, but with apt-get update you can upgrade packages.
Kali's maintainers keep update all packages.

i would just use Kali as a VM

Ehhh, imo just use Ubuntu/Arch/Gentoo or Fedora, Kali's only good for security imo
