I used to think journalist is a serious profession. But after recent news, hell no

Some days ago, our every own pompompurin sent FBI some friendly reminder. And there goes the main stream media frenzy of oh-no-FBI-is-hacked. Despite pompompurin himself/herself already made it clear that it is not a hack but rather a live demo of exploitable vulnerability. And furthermore, the discussion seems to drift from "why the fuck FBI uses the stupidly vulnerable code, who is resposible, who should be fired" to "who is pompompurin", "it smells like a broke security researcher turn into a crook". Yeah yeah yeah, always easier to blame the messenger than deal with the real problem.

Meanwhile, why every single news agency has to act like oh my god metaverse is the ground breaking future sensation. Come on! Any one heard of the Second Life game? That shit was 20 years ago. And there was even a real estate bubble burst in the game. Did every single proper journalist born before 2000 is retrenched?

Seriously? I used to read great pieces of journalism that upholding the dignity of human kind. Now, they seem to degenerate into a sad bunch trying hard to grasp every single chance to generate hype. I know some reporters read this forum. So, please, don't be one of those sad bunch.

Journalism in main stream media doesn't exists, it is dead. Real journalist gather facts, verify the info, cross check again and publish. If fake news will become crime there is a chance that journalism will be back in main stream media. Look at the news when someone gets hack, it always starts "it was sophisticated attack...", after reading this I know it is a lie...FBI should be grateful to Pompom, someone else would sell this vulnerability.

Exactly! I guess popularizing the term 'fake news' is one of Trump's rare gifts to the world.
