Windows: Go to "Device Manager" , search for Display adapter, clip the tab, should display its model.
Linux: type "lspci | grep VGA" in terminal

Do you mean if it has been used in someones PC before or if it's a 2070 instead of a 3070? If it's visual then you should check for any wear and tear on the graphics card. Checking for dust on the cards fan would help - of course this doesn't help if it's been cleaned extremely well.

Use GPU-Z to get all the information about the card. It will also show if the bios has been tampered and if you have a fake card.

使用 GPU-Z 获取有关卡的所有信息。它还会显示 bios 是否被篡改以及您是否有假卡。

You have to worry, a lot of resellers sell cards with just changed fans and cases.

Get GPU-Z, couple that with CPU-Z, both great software for keeping a tab on hardware.

If you want to get the most out of your 3D card too, get MSi Afterburner.
