How To Value a Database?
#1
The title might be a bit confusing, so I'll explain a bit more.

I've dumped a database with around 300k users, along with a bunch of other information. Physical Addresses, Birthdays, Names, Phone Numbers, IPs. I was thinking of selling it, but I have no idea how to determine how much the actual data is worth.

So how would I determine something like this? The total number of lines I have is 462,301. There are another 145,722 lines of data that are pretty much just a combination of everything I listed before. (Order Information from 2012-Present, includes User-Agents)

depends If this is a private database and the information in your database is unique and fresh information about non cracked emails /new ones than it will be worth more like for example if you have an email that is in another database and it has the same info etc its shit

As far as I know, I'm the only person who has this database. I'm sure a lot of the emails in the database aren't cracked as I've done a few searches with WLI and haven't found anything connected to some of the emails. I haven't checked every email address though.

Just tell us which site the data was leaked from, and we can value ur information. Might be willing to buy if worthy.

I would do that, but the vulnerability is still there. It wouldn't take much for someone else to find it and leak the data. I was only thinking of putting it up for sale when they fix the vulnerability or update their website.

Contact them and say there is a vulnerability in their site, I'm 100% sure they'll fix it ASAP and you got yourself a PRIVATE leak  Biggrin

Payment info would be something you could strip and sell piecemeal or direct to a few sites that take a cut for offering it on their site but that market is oversaturated af.
No payment info then, the type of site is probably the most important.
Next is geographic location.
Are you selling unlimited copies?
Hash type matters but not if they're cracked or not.
Don't name the site in public or in pm/email to some time waster/snitch. Unless it's known ie top... 5000 it doesn't matter.
Know the market. Where's the demand and who pays.

I have told them about the vulnerability, multiple times. Even sent them proof of it. They still haven't fixed it so I'm doubting they'd fix it now unless I sent them a part of the database. Which I could do, but they'd be able to change the credentials for the mysql page on the website.

Payment info doesn't have anything useful, they use a third party website for payments and don't store anything on their own servers.
It's a furry porn website, so fairly niche I'd think.
Not sure what you mean by geographic location, so I can't really answer that.
I'm not sure if I'd be selling unlimited copies or just a few. I don't want it to become a public leak right off the bat, or have the market become flooded with other people reselling for a higher price.
Hash type is mostly bcrypt. There are a few other types mixed in, like phpass.
