Facebook tracks non-users via Android Apps

Without knowing which apps use the default SDK settings, is there a way for Android users to (stick with Android and) protect themselves?
Wow, I'm so surprised.

No. If you want privacy you must drop Google services
Surely this would be disclosed in that app's terms? If not that would be illegal. Regardless, stuff like this is hard to avoid with bruteforce tactics of outright ditching google services for example.
Everything has a price. On iOS it's the same problem Wink
These big data company's track everything all the time. Everyone should know this by now !
That's a very misleading article title they used. Per their description, Facebook isn't tracking people but rather various apps are tracking people and sharing that tracking data with Facebook. Plus it doesn't mention that iOS apps are doing the same thing as has been pointed out by bobby92. It also sounds like all data is pretty much anonymous regardless of whether you have a Facebook account or not unless you connect that account to the app sharing the data. Good to know this is happening, though, and what apps to avoid.
