And people wonder why the economy is stressed out, why depression and anxiety are increasing. It's by no means exclusive to tesla, if an excel sheet somewhere spits out one unfavorable metric you and your job are gone. Often times the unintended consequences of you being gone are later realized and they'll recreate and rehire for your old position. Anyone working for a corporation could be gone tomorrow with no reason given and no severance, most employers have you sign "at will" waivers or the state protects them. Part of my life has become networking and creating safety nets, places and people I know I can go to if i'm let go tomorrow...because every day I wake up I have no idea. It's not a huge stressor for me, but more like a constant nagging stress running in the background 24/7.
I guess America's just going to have to buckle down with the idea of efficient, electric trains
