I don't trust the TOR network because it's like anything on the internet, don't trust it.

As already mentioned in the thread, all systems have vulnerabilities, it is just a matter of time. So maybe TOR is safe at the moment, but for how much longer?

NO Because some tor exit nodes / nodes are owned by the government and they are actively monitored. But its only over 25% of nodes. you have nothing to worry about aslong as you are not hiding anything or are very paranoid.
The best thing to do is Use VPN

only tor isn't enough, vpn and tor is better...
#23
absolutely not! i heard that tor is the dark web and there are hackers there!

Yes and No, depends on what you use it for.

Tor is on of the best alternative for anonymously surfing the internet. Fundamentally, Tor is secure; however, Tor itself can’t guarantee your privacy and security.

Tor protects anonymity by directing Internet traffic through a free, worldwide, volunteer network consisting of more than six thousand relays to conceal a user’s location. It is legally used by millions worldwide to circumvent censorship and to stay safe from online snooping.

However Anonymity is not the same as security. While it is difficult to hack the encryption of the Tor network, a network is only as secure as the technology used to access the network. LEA was/is able to exploit security flaws in the Tor Browser Bundle.

Tor has a known weakness: The last node through which traffic passes in the network has to decrypt the communication before delivering it to its final destination. Someone operating that node can see the communication passing through this server.
