Well, it is interesting that they found the worst possible solution for all parties involved.

The people in the UK will be really happy once they realize they still have to follow the EU laws (e.g. because the products made in the UK cannot be sold in the EU if they do not comply with EU law) but no longer have the right to help write those laws.

Half of the UK trade is directly with the EU, and another 12% is through EU preferential trade deals.

✓ I support Brexit. I find that the European Union is not very democratic, and I think every country should govern themselves and not other countries. Unfortunately, I am no longer a citizen of the U.K. because of this, but their interests > mine.

Do you believe in the propaganda used by the Leave campaign (for example the lie about the £350 million a week)? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_unce..._and_doubt
We are only now figuring out where the funding of the Leave campaign came from, shady fucking business...

The UK isn't very democratic either... Are you not aware of that?

Not every country is great or has great leaders, but every country should be its own.

So basically you are against the "United" part of the "United States" and you want every single state to be on its own again? Do you want the United Kingdom to be Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland again?

You are not making any sense.

If you are against collaboration in any way between different countries then you must be against stuff like NATO too?

Please check your history books. For example, my country has colonized many places hundreds and thousands of kilometer away from here, and some of them are part of our kingdom but not part of our country, for example in the West Indies and the Carribean Sea.

The EU is a confederation. The U.S. is not. The U.S. Constitution states that states are not sovereign, so they are not the same as EU countries.

Edit: I do support a weaker federal government though. I'm a strong federalist. If people in California want gun control and abortions that's fine, but don't bring it over to Texas because they don't want it.

Man, I wish this convo was in politics and not WN. I'm not getting credited for this lol

Essentially everything that any sensible person thought would happen is happening. It turns out that we aren't the powerful empire that we were 150 years ago and we can't go around calling the shots and dictating terms. What an absolute shit show.

It kinda sounds like what was expected to happen. Only it's proposed at the last minute to push ppl against the wall and get it through.
