On mobile I can recommend "Bromite", it's based on Chromium and comes with working adblock. Also 100% open source. Really nice - and compared to brave it works when it comes to blocking ads.

Some people sound really excited when speaking about how good Brave browser is. But the truth is that if you overload it with more extensions it would perform worse than Mozilla.

try putting your chrome behind a proxy to see how many "extra" requests it makes, its quite chatty

I mainly use Firefox. Never tried Brave but willing to give it a shot.

Haven't heard of Brave browser before but will switch if better than alternatives

Tried to install Brave and boy did it take a while to install, because it was putting a lot of crap onto my system,,, no way do I trust these guys more than I trust the Mozilla devs, so off it goes *yoink* and back to Firefox
